Making a Show of Themselves was founded when hopeful Gaia Online users Taruhi and Shido Tooyu teamed up to create an extensive Halloween parody project. While the project never really got off the ground and still isn't complete, MaSoT continues to grow.Name Origins
The name of our studio, Making a Show of Themselves, is very simply explained. While designing our first planned project, an off-hand comment of how the characters within were 'making a show of themselves' was used, reused, and finally taken as the our "studio".The name is very fitting, to say the least. ;)
Media Formats
MaSoT seems to specialise in Anime Music Videos, but we are also working with original animation, photomanipulation and manga/doujinshi.While we currently don't have any examples apart from video to provide - but if you give us time, we'll shine!
Genres
MaSoT primarially works with comedy and parody, but also works with many other genres. The first video completed under MaSoT was ironically a romance/drama/action, with no comedy or parody included (Kastles of Sand - completed March 2007).But, videos are perhaps the only exception. With video, different concepts can be grasped and worked with creatively. As for other projects, however, comedy and parody is central to the story and will most likely be worked with, with little variation. But this doesn't mean there won't be a more serious story somewhere along the line!
Target Audiences
Our target audience, if we have one that is, is most likely easily-amused individuals with interests in anime, manga, video games, and the like.Feel free to view our productions if you're not a fan of any of the above, but we can't guarantee you'll enjoy what we're producing at all ;)
